On Bologna process and not only…

The guest of our University, Hans Pecher Ph.D.,

Professor of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, University of Klagenfurt (Austria), took part in a roundtable discussion, devoted to the Bologna process, held at the Faculty of History and International Relations.

English was chosen as a working language. The coordinator of the roundtable meeting Anal Khassenova held the opening speech. The event was also attended by Vice Rector Gainelgazi Adilgazinov, Dean Gulzhan Akhmetova, and the department staff.

The event was attended by 1-4 grade students of International Relations.

In connection with the Kazakhstan’s accession to the Bologna Process, students asked Dr. Pecher questions on European education, benefits for Kazakhstan and students, the nuances of the Bologna process, such as the European Diploma Supplement, or the requirements to join the Bologna Process, etc.

As it turned out, there are no special requirements. Chief among these is the desire to join and lead public education in line with European standards.

Kazakhstan's accession to the Bologna process, as noted by Hans Pecher, provides real benefits to Kazakhstan’s universities and students. These are: bringing domestic educational programs and curricula in line with European standards, recognition of national qualifications and academic degrees, ensuring academic mobility of students and teachers, implementation of double diploma education programs, convertibility of the Kazakh higher education diplomas in the euro area, the right of the graduates for employment in any of the member countries of the Bologna process.
