Сlosing ceremony of the III Winter Universiade was held In Ust-Kamenogorsk

On March 11, Thursday, at the S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University (EKSU) the deputy director of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Physical Culture of Ministry of Education and Science (MES RK), the honored coach of Kazakhstan, the deputy chief judge of the Universiade Bauyrzhan Ramazanov presented the winners with awards and certificates.

As we know, within 11 days of sport events in Ridder and Ust-Kamenogorsk cities there was a stubborn fight for the victory in the team event between 27 teams of Kazakhstani universities in 9 kinds of sport, such as skiing, biathlon, all-round competitions, futsal, orienteering hockey, arm wrestling, weight and power-lifting.

In the team event the Amanzholov EKSU team became the undoubted leader of the Universiade, second place was given to a team of the Serikbayev EKSTU, third place was won by the team of Kozybaev North-Kazakhstan State University, the fourth place was given to Torajgyrov PSU.

In the ice hockey competition the EKSU team deservedly won the first place.

B. Ramazanov also presented certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan to the most active participants and organizers of the III Winter Universiade, including rectors of the region universities, the chief judges of all sports, in which the teams competed, and a number of leaders of the region.

The participant of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, Alexey Poltaranin was given a gold medal of the National Scientific and Practical Center of Physical Culture of MES RK. The EKSU team handed the Flag of the Winter Universiade to the team of the Kozybaev University (North Kazakhstan) – this is where in March 2012 the next Winter Universiade of Kazakhstan is planned to be held.
