EKSU hosted the I-th international webinar " Al-Farabi: contribution to the development of world intellectual culture»

The I-th international webinar "Al-Farabi: contribution to the development of world intellectual culture" was held at the S. Amanzholov EKSU to mark the 1150th anniversary of the great thinker.

This is the first scientific event in the series of international webinars "the History of humanism: from ideas to reality", which this year is held by the Altaitanu research center.

The webinar was attended by scientists and students from Altai state University (Barnaul, Russia), Kyrgyz national University named after Zh. Balasagyn (Bishkek, KR), Al-Farabi KazNU (Almaty), Karaganda state University named After E. Buketov, GU. Shakarim (Semey). The total number of participants was 200 people.

During the webinar, they not only highlighted the main ideas of the "Second teacher", but also spoke about their relevance for today's humanity. A particularly heated discussion unfolded about the understanding of happiness and the price of achieving it. Students from different universities debated whether happiness can be an end that justifies the means and what is the essence of true humanism.
