Sports Club is a structural division of S. Amanzholov EKSU, designed to help students improve their health, improve the sportsmanship of student-athletes, and expand the mass of physical education at the university.

The founders of the sports club were teachers of the Department of Physical Education of Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute - Trunov A.N, Vasilchenko V.V, Dolgikh A.A. and Reskin E.E.

For a long time the sports club of S. Amanzholov EKSU implements its functions together with the Department of Theory and Methodology and Physical Culture and Sports.

The university is rich with its traditions in many kind of sports - ice hockey, skiing, biathlon, downhill skiing, acrobatics, volleyball, basketball, weight-lifting, arm wrestling, football and other sports.

Famous university athletes defended the country's honor at international competitions, such as, Aleksandrov B., Turukalo N., Dukhno A., Ryab’ev S., Kozlov V., Mozhanov A., Troschinsky A., Torlopov D., Gumerova N. , Lilichenko V., Sailkhanov R., Shishkina S., Yatskaya O. and many others.

In 1991-92 University team in ski racing won the All-Union Universiade. In 1995, the national team of Kazakhstan in ice hockey, made up of most of the students of EKSU, won gold medals at the World Universiade in Spain. In 1996, the hockey team became the champion of the Asian Games.

The team of EKSU became the 4th winner of the winter Universiade of universities of Kazakhstan (2006, 2008, 2010, 2012)

Students of EKSU - Kudryavtsev S. and Asetov A. (specialty “Physical Culture and Sports”) were included in the national ice hockey team of Kazakhstan to participate in the World Winter Universiade - 2017, which was held in Almaty. Triumphant were the performances of our students S. Kudryavtsev and A. Asetov in the national team of Kazakhstan at the Asian Games in Sapporo, where the Kazakhstan national hockey team became the champion of the Asian Games-2017.

The first medal of Kazakhstan at the Asian Games in Sapporo brought a graduate of EKSU them. S.
